A home to age in place without sacrificing today’s livability, design or comfort. Indoor and outdoor access points are designed with accessibility in mind, without sacrificing the pure modern design aesthetic. The great room, dining room, screen porch and a soaring deck emerge from the moraine, and strong horizontal roof forms accentuate this effect as they move away from the planted, low-slung garage.
The front entrance turns into a clerestory with an increased height that fills the great room with daylight. Use of interior clear and frosted glass creates a framed view of the mature forest. Special features include two home offices, a walk-in pantry and a dressing room “retreat” off the master suite that creates a personal space removed from the rest of the home. Modern Oasis combines local and regional design, architecture, builders and construction methods developed for the unique challenges and diverse thermo conditions of the Midwest. Because we are starting with extreme and varied conditions, we are designing and building a platform ready for reapplication across geographies and to programs ranging from high end, custom single family, to well appointed, repeatable multi-family.
