Experience Pure and Simple Lake Living at 1546 St. Croix Trail, Golden Valey MN
DESIGN TEAM: Charles Stinson, AIA; Josh Norman; Ryan Andrews, Assoc. AIA; Bill Potter
PROJECT TYPE: New Construction
The clients had a clear vision of a home where family and friends came together to enjoy special occasions, their college-age children returned for visits, and immediate family enjoyed extended stays. The home should maximize lake access and views and be filled with light throughout the day, in every season. Finally, they wanted a home that felt ‘warm,’ modern, and with flowing, flexible spaces.
The architect used pure and simple forms to organize and connect living spaces both inside and out. Large, open views from master suite, kitchen and great room transition to outdoor spaces on both upper and main levels. A welcoming entry patio and glass at the front entrance ensure the uninhibited flow of people, air, and light throughout the home. A three-story stair form/light well works to daylight every room while creating continuity with the fewest and purest forms possible.
Architect, industrial and interior designers collaborated to design custom furniture and millwork throughout the home that both reflects the character of the clients and completes the home’s aesthetic.
